Baile Harghita

Baile Harghita, parte a orasului Miercurea Ciuc, odinioara proprietatea Ciceului, este o localitate balneoclimaterica, montana, fiind cel mai vizitat de Ciucani pentru pârtiile sale de schi. Altitudinea medie a localitatii este de 1300-1400 m. Anual perioada favorabila schiatului este de 4 luni iar stratul mediu de zapada depaseste 60 de cm. Statiunea dispune de mai multe pârtii amenajate, cu teleferic, unele chiar si cu instalatie de nocturna.

Baile Harghita este cunoscuta datorita minei de caolin, pentru mofetele, apele sale minerale si pentru microclimatul alpin deosebit de placut. Cu doua mofete solfatariene si cu ape carbogazoase cu o compozitie chimica diferita, creeaza posibilitatea unor tratamente variate, în cura interna si externa. . În partea sudica a statiunii se înalta vârful Borhegyes (1379 m) din dealul pârâului Fejszó unde exista si izvor de apa minerala.

Se poate accesa din intersectia de la Pasul Vlahita de pe DN 13 A, pe DJ 138A la 7 km de la intersectie. Drumul a fost construit în 1942. Distanta de la Miercurea-Ciuc este de 23 km, de la Odorhei 46 km, de la Siculeni, prin drum forestier 18 km. Vatra localitatii este sub versantul sudic al vârfului Harghita Ciceului (1761 m), la nord de vârful Bagolyko (1679 m).
